In this programme, we will delve into Knowledge Management (KM) from both a business and computer science perspective. Participants will explore the origins of KM, including its evolution and emerging trends. The focus will be on effectively leveraging the extensive volumes of knowledge and data available, determining appropriate access, and transforming knowledge into actionable information.


Indicative Content:

  • Data driven decision-making; This session will emphasise the necessity of basing management decisions on objective data rather than relying on intuition or emotional predictions. We will address the challenges of departmental silos that restrict data accessibility, outlining the importance of an inclusive, holistic approach. Participants will learn tactics for capturing data across the organisation, transforming it into usable information, and guiding comprehensive decision-making.
  • Management science and statistics; This module examines the integration of management science and statistics as foundational elements in modern decision-making processes. Participants will discover how quantitative measurements can be employed to analyse and interpret data, providing predictive insights that facilitate proactive problem-solving and strategic planning.
  • Forecasting and scenario building; This topic is part of a broader framework aimed at developing robust business plans grounded in predictive management techniques. Participants will learn to identify various scenarios—such as best, worst, and moderate outcomes—enabling them to construct scenario-based models that inform strategic decision-making.
